Honda launches 2027 Passport TrailSport with enhanced off-road capabilities

Honda has released the 2027 Passport TrailSport and TrailSport Elite, featuring significant mechanical upgrades designed to enhance off-road capability. The vehicle is making its competitive debut at the 2026 Rebelle Rally, an all-women off-road navigation event.

Key updates include a completely reengineered suspension system, with approximately 70% of major components—such as springs, dampers, control arms, and stabilizer bars—being redesigned. This overhaul increases ground clearance to 9.65 inches, a gain of 1.38 inches over the previous model, while also improving approach, departure, and breakover angles.

Additional features for the 2027 lineup include the TrailWatch camera system, which provides 360-degree views to assist in obstacle avoidance, and heated steering wheels now standard across TrailSport trims. The vehicle is produced at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant. Furthermore, Honda plans to introduce the Passport TrailSport Elite to the Japanese market in early 2027.
