Honda NSX auction reaches 8 million yen despite flood damage

A 1991 Honda NSX (NA1) in Formula Red attracted significant attention during a recent Yahoo! Auctions sale despite severe flood damage. The vehicle, which had been submerged up to its door level during heavy rains in July 2026, was listed as a “junk” item intended for restoration.

Despite having over 236,000 km on the odometer and featuring a 4-speed automatic transmission, the auction saw 93 bids. The price initially surged to over 8 million yen (approximately $51,000), demonstrating the high demand and collector status of the first-generation NSX in the neo-classic car market.

However, following the high bid, a series of bid cancellations and refusals occurred, resulting in the final transaction price reverting to the starting price of 1 million yen.
