Honda reaches 33 million motorcycle production milestone in Brazil

Honda has reached a production milestone of 33 million motorcycles in Brazil. The Manaus plant, which celebrates 50 years of operation, currently produces approximately 7,000 units per day across 20 different models. Between January and August of this year, the facility produced over 1.12 million motorcycles, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. The company plans to invest R$ 1.6 billion by 2029 to modernize operations and aims for an annual production capacity of 1.6 million units.

In parallel, Honda is developing a new generation of hybrid vehicles aimed at reducing production costs by approximately 30% through the e:HEV system. This initiative includes a new platform that is 90 kg lighter and targets a fuel consumption reduction of over 10%. Production of the new hybrid CR-V is expected to begin in Canada in February 2027, followed by assembly in the United States the following month. This shift in strategy involves launching 15 new hybrid models by fiscal year 2029 as part of a broader electrification plan.
