Honda confirms Diogo Moreira for 2027 factory MotoGP team

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has officially confirmed its rider lineup for the 2027 MotoGP season. Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira will join the factory Honda HRC team, where he will serve as the teammate to Fabio Quartararo.

Moreira’s promotion follows a strong debut season in the premier class, highlighted by a second-place finish in the Motegi sprint race and impressive performance during testing for the new 850cc motorcycles. He will work alongside crew chief Andrés Madrid.

As a result of this decision, Colombian rider David Alonso will join the LCR Honda satellite team instead of the factory squad. Alonso, who was previously expected to join the factory team, will partner with Johann Zarco. To support his transition to the premier class, Santi Hernández will oversee his adaptation in the LCR garage.
