Brazil motorcycle industry sees growth and electrification push
The Brazilian motorcycle industry is experiencing significant growth and a shift toward electrification. In the Manaus Industrial Pole, production reached 1.98 million units in 2025, with projections for 2026 to hit 2.07 million. This hub is one of the largest motorcycle production centers globally outside of Asia, supporting over 150,000 jobs nationwide.
Honda has emerged as a dominant market leader, recording over 1.03 million registrations between January and August 2026, a 9% increase from the previous year. Popular models include the CG 160, Biz125, Pop110i ES, and NXR160 Bros. In mid-September 2026, the Honda CG 160 continued to lead sales rankings.
To address the lack of domestic electric vehicle infrastructure, companies 99 and iFood are partnering with YvY Capital to establish an investment fund. The fund aims to raise R$ 304.5 million to de-risk industrial projects, with the long-term goal of circulating 600,000 electric motorcycles by 2035 and unlocking up to R$ 5 billion in industrial investments.
