Honda and BMW unveil new motorcycle models for 2027
Honda has announced several updates to its motorcycle lineup for 2027, headlined by the debut of the CBR500R FOUR in Europe. This new mid-capacity sportbike features a 502 cc four-cylinder engine producing 72 hp and comes standard with Honda E-Clutch technology, which allows for gear changes and stops without manual clutch operation. Additionally, the CBR600RR will receive updates including redesigned aerodynamics, a new ABS modulator with three modes, and Nissin radial brake calipers derived from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade.
In the premium segment, Honda is testing a next-generation CBR1000RR-R Fireblade with revised aerodynamics, including ground-effect side pods and larger front wings. A track-exclusive CBR600RR Race Base version is also being prepared for the Japanese market, featuring competition-spec electronics and suspension.
Separately, BMW Motorrad has unveiled the third generation of its M Motorsport chassis for the 2027 BMW M 1000 RR. The new aluminum chassis is approximately 1.3 kg lighter than its predecessor, utilizing thinner walls to achieve a precise balance between rigidity and lateral flexibility to improve tire contact during cornering.
