Honda plans 2027 production for Civic Type R HRC

Reports from Japan suggest that Honda is planning to bring the Civic Type R HRC to production as early as 2027. Based on the existing FL5 model, this high-performance variant is expected to incorporate significant technology and hardware from the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), the brand's motorsport division.

While official technical specifications have not been confirmed, rumors indicate the HRC version will feature substantial upgrades to the engine, chassis, and aerodynamics. Potential improvements include a revised K20C engine, enhanced cooling systems, an Akrapovič exhaust, and more aggressive aerodynamic components such as a larger rear wing and diffuser. The vehicle may also see weight reductions through the use of carbon fiber.

In separate news, Honda has announced updates for its CB750 Hornet motorcycle for the 2027 model year. The updates focus primarily on aesthetics, introducing four new color combinations, while maintaining the existing 755cc parallel-twin engine and offering the Honda E-Clutch system.
