Honda updates CBR supersport motorcycle lineup for 2027
Honda has announced updates for its supersport motorcycle lineup for the 2027 model year, opting to continue its four-cylinder engine tradition despite industry shifts. The CBR600RR will return with a 599 cm³ four-cylinder engine producing 121 hp, featuring upgraded Fireblade-derived calipers, a revised ABS system with three modes, and a modern 5-inch display.
Additionally, the CBR500R FOUR 2027 will introduce a new 502 cc four-cylinder engine delivering 72 hp and 47.4 Nm of torque. This model will feature the Honda E-Clutch electronic system as standard, allowing for gear changes and starts without manual clutch lever operation. Technical specifications for the CBR500R include a steel frame, 41 mm KYB forks, and five riding modes.
These developments come as competitors shift strategies; Yamaha is preparing to end production of its R6 series, and Suzuki has already removed the GSX-R600 from European catalogs. Kawasaki intends to maintain its Ninja ZX-6R in the market for 2027.
