Honda Vietnam issues warning over counterfeit bike parts
Vietnamese authorities seized 105 counterfeit Honda motorcycle components after a surprise inspection in Đồng Tháp province uncovered four households storing fake parts such as seats, spark‑plug caps, speedometers and brake levers. The seized items were examined, confirmed as illegal, and ordered destroyed under administrative penalties. Honda Vietnam reiterated its advisory for riders to purchase parts only from authorized Honda service centres, checking labels, barcodes and packaging to ensure safety.
The crackdown is part of a nationwide drive ordered by the Prime Minister to curb counterfeit goods and intellectual‑property violations. In the first half of 2026, enforcement agencies reported handling 67,685 infringement cases—a 36.1% rise from the same period in 2025—and collecting roughly VND 9.647 trillion in fines, signalling a tightened regulatory environment for illegal trade.
