Honda Vietnam recalls nearly 750 large‑engine motorcycles over steering‑handle and fuel‑system faults

Honda Motor Co.'s Vietnamese subsidiary announced a recall of approximately 748‑750 motorcycles sold in Vietnam. The recall covers the Rebel 500 (724 units) and CL500 (15 units) models because a steering‑handle clamp bolt can loosen, potentially causing loss of control. It also includes nine 2025 CB1000 Hornet motorcycles due to a fuel‑line that may detach and leak gasoline, as well as piston and exhaust‑pipe assembly issues that raise oil consumption and risk engine overheating and rear‑wheel lock.

The affected Rebel 500 and CL500 bikes were imported from Thailand and manufactured between 2023 and 2025, while the Hornet units were imported from Japan. Honda has reported no accidents linked to these defects. The recall programme will begin at the end of July 2026, with repairs for the steering‑handle bolt taking about 2½ hours per bike and the CB1000 Hornet repairs up to 10 hours per bike.

Owners will receive free parts and service to replace the faulty components, aiming to eliminate the safety risk.
