Honda wins second consecutive IndyCar manufacturer title

Honda has secured its second consecutive IndyCar manufacturer’s title following the double-header weekend at the Milwaukee Mile. This marks the 12th overall manufacturer’s championship for the company since entering American open-wheel competition 30 years ago.

During the 2026 season, Honda achieved victories at all street course events and across all track types visited by the series. Notable successes included winning the Indianapolis 500 with Felix Rosenqvist. Additionally, Honda engines powered Alex Palou to his fifth driver championship.

HRC US President David Salters credited the achievement to the efforts of the Honda Racing Corporation USA team, describing the season as dominant. The manufacturer's race was also influenced by technical issues faced by Chevrolet, which required several engine replacements due to supplier problems affecting valves, impacting Chevrolet's ability to earn points once their engine allocations were exhausted.
