Hondarribia and Barcelona report fatal shooting and serious hotel stabbing

In Hondarribia, a 46-year-old man died after being shot by a local police officer during an intervention. The incident began when the man, who had 12 previous arrests, threatened people in a hospitality establishment with a knife. During the police response, the man attempted to repeatedly stab an Ertzaintza officer. A local police officer used his service weapon to repel the attack, striking the man.
