Honduran and Cuban Legislatures Review Labor Laws

Honduras' Subsecretary of Labor Daniel Discua said requests to repeal the newly approved Partial Employment Law are premature, noting the law was the result of extensive congressional debate and aims to regulate part‑time work while guaranteeing workers' rights and social security. The law, passed on 25 March, establishes equal labor and social‑security protections for private‑sector employees on reduced schedules.

In Cuba, deputies examined proposals for a new Labor Code and a law on the organization of the central state administration. Minister Jesús Otamendiz Campos presented the drafts, stressing that they update regulations, protect workers' rights and strengthen union participation, and that the legislation will be considered in the upcoming session of the National Assembly.
