Honduran authorities detain five in Yoro and Colón raids
Honduran authorities conducted eight judicial raids across the departments of Yoro and Colón, targeting the El Bambú village in Olanchito, Bonito Oriental, and Tocoa. The operations, led by the Public Ministry, the Directorate of Narcotic Trafficking (DLCN), and the Special Prosecutor's Office Against Organized Crime (FESCCO), resulted in the detention of five individuals: two men and three women.
The investigations focus on the illegal possession of firearms and the illegal capture of specimens, which harms the state's biological diversity. During the searches, officials seized two rifles, two 12-gauge shotguns, handguns, and 5.56 caliber ammunition.
Additional items confiscated include cash, various documents, 12 mobile phones, and surveillance camera recording equipment. Two pickup trucks were also seized for further investigation.
