Honduran Congress postpones Michael Douglas decoration ceremony

The Honduran National Congress has postponed a ceremony intended to honor American actor Michael Douglas. The event, originally scheduled for Monday, August 31, at 4:00 PM, was rescheduled following a request from Douglas himself.

Douglas was slated to receive the Grand Cross with Gold Plate and Special Parchment, a high distinction approved by the legislature. The award recognizes his frequent visits to and international promotion of Roatán and the Bay Islands, which officials believe has helped bolster Honduras's global tourism image.

A new date for the ceremony has not yet been determined, though the Congress stated it remains in communication to coordinate the rescheduled event.
