Honduran Congress provides drought relief to Langue
The President of the National Congress, Tomás Zambrano, led a social assistance mission in the municipality of Langue, Valle, to support over 1,000 families affected by severe drought. The initiative provided households with basic food basket supplies valued at more than 4,000 lempiras each to mitigate food insecurity caused by prolonged water shortages in the southern region.
In addition to food aid, authorities delivered heavy machinery to the local municipal government. This equipment is intended to strengthen the municipality's capacity to manage infrastructure, improve road networks, and implement water projects to help communities prepare for future climate vulnerabilities. The operation involved various political and administrative actors, including Yohana Estrada de Zambrano, Director of the Congressional Social Action and Hope Office, to coordinate multisectoral responses for both rural and urban sectors.
