Honduran Congress supervises flood mitigation works in El Progreso

Legislative leaders in Honduras are supervising the construction of flood mitigation works in El Progreso, Yoro. National Congress President Tomás Zambrano led a site visit to inspect the progress of levees and relief channels designed to protect families, crops, and homes from seasonal flooding.

Zambrano noted that the Congress previously approved an infrastructure emergency decree to authorize resources for such projects. The interventions include the use of new membrane technology to reinforce structures against rising waters. The visit included various deputies from multiple political parties to ensure the correct execution of the authorized projects.
