Honduran Congress unveils new murals celebrating national identity

The National Congress of Honduras has inaugurated two new murals in its Cultural Hall to highlight the country's history and cultural identity. The project was executed by artist Daniela Calderón and supported by the Secretariat of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage of the Peoples of Honduras (SECAPPH).

One mural provides a historical overview of the National Congress and its role in the nation's democratic life. The second mural focuses on Honduran cultural identity, incorporating elements of local flora, fauna, and references to the Lenca culture.

Congress President Tomás Zambrano stated that the initiative aims to strengthen the historical value of the space and provide a clearer cultural connection for visitors, particularly students and youth from schools and universities who frequently visit the legislative headquarters.
