Honduras sees 14% rise in Salvadoran tourism during Fiestas Agostinas

Tourism from El Salvador to Honduras increased by 14% during the Fiestas Agostinas holidays, according to Tourism Minister Andrés Ehrler. During the first weekend of the period, approximately 8,000 Salvadoran tourists entered the country.

The influx has primarily benefited the Atlantic coast and island zones, with increased activity reported in hotels, restaurants, and among tour operators. Significant movement has also been observed in the central and western tourist corridors.

To manage the increase, the Honduran Institute of Tourism, the National Institute of Migration, and the National Chamber of Tourism implemented special operations at major border crossings to expedite migratory processes. One-day visits from El Salvador have seen a growth rate exceeding 26%.
