Honduran judges approve two extraditions to the U.S. and Colombia
Honduran judges have granted two separate extradition requests involving a Honduran national and a Colombian citizen.
Darwin David Espinal del Cid, a Honduran citizen, has been cleared for extradition to the United States. He faces charges in Pennsylvania for homicide, possession of a crime instrument, theft by appropriation, theft by deception, and concealment of a corpse related to the death of a Guatemalan citizen.
In a separate ruling, Fermín Alberto García Isaza, a Colombian national, was granted extradition to Colombia. García Isaza is wanted for aggravated drug trafficking, manufacturing, or possession. He was previously detained during a joint operation between U.S. and Colombian authorities where 192 bundles of a substance suspected to be cocaine were seized.
In both cases, the defense teams have three business days to file an appeal with the full assembly of magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice.
