Honduran Supreme Court launches public defense visibility campaign

The Supreme Court of Honduras (CSJ) announced a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the public defense system. Court President Jorge Vallecillo said the initiative aims to restore public confidence in the judiciary by informing citizens about their legal rights and how to access legal aid. The campaign will target neighborhoods, communities and families, especially those facing barriers to justice. Vallecillo highlighted that information should leave the courts and reach the people directly.

The effort is supported by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, which is helping to strengthen institutions and deliver direct benefits to the population. The CSJ expects the visibility drive to showcase recent achievements and improve the public’s understanding of the justice system.
