Honduras and Greece open honorary consulate to boost trade
Honduras and Greece have officially opened an honorary consulate in Honduras to strengthen bilateral ties and foster cooperation in trade, tourism, and investment. The formalization took place during a ceremony at the Casa Presidencial, attended by Honduran President Nasry Asfura, Minister of the Presidency Juan Carlos García, Greek Ambassador Nikolaos Kotrokois, and Vice-Chancellor Evelyn Bautista.
Nan Marinakys López was officially appointed as the honorary consul of the Hellenic Republic following the reading of her Exequatur. The new diplomatic representation aims to facilitate contact between public institutions, businesses, and organizations from both nations.
Ambassador Kotrokois emphasized Greece's interest in exploring cooperation in sectors where the country holds significant expertise, specifically maritime navigation, shipping, port management, and logistics. He also highlighted the potential of Honduras due to its strategic location and access to both Caribbean and Pacific ports. Additionally, the initiative seeks to promote cultural, academic, and scientific exchanges between the two countries.
