Honduras and US strengthen security cooperation and police infrastructure
Honduran security authorities and United States representatives have engaged in several initiatives to strengthen law enforcement capabilities and infrastructure.
A delegation of sheriffs from Bradford and Putnam counties, Florida, visited the Central Military Police Complex in Tegucigalpa. The visit focused on the operational capacities and organizational structure of the Military Police of Public Order (PMOP), facilitating an exchange of experiences regarding citizen security and institutional practices.
In Comayagua, new dormitory facilities were inaugurated at the Center for Technical Schools of Police Specialties (CETEP). This infrastructure project, supported by the United States Embassy through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), aims to improve living conditions and training environments for police students and agents. The project is part of ongoing efforts to modernize police training and professionalize the Honduran National Police.
