Honduras court schedules verdict in Angie Peña disappearance case

A Honduran court has scheduled the verdict for the trial involving the disappearance of Angie Peña in Roatán on January 1, 2022. The ruling is set for November 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Court of Sentence for Organized Crime, Environment, and Corruption.

The case involves four defendants: Americans Harold Joseph Green Jr. and William James Murdock, who face charges of human trafficking, as well as Gary Lee Johnston and Ramón Gustavo Trejo Nájera, who are accused of criminal association.

Following the conclusion of the oral trial and final arguments, the Public Ministry requested that the court find the defendants criminally responsible. Conversely, the defense teams have requested an acquittal. While the trial was conducted under secrecy to protect the victim, the judiciary will allow media and public access for the reading of the verdict.
