Honduras expands cadastral services to all 298 municipalities
President Nasry Asfura has announced the expansion of cadastral services to all 298 municipalities in Honduras. Through the National Network of Municipal Associated Centers (CAM) and the Property Institute (IP), the initiative aims to standardize territorial information and provide legal certainty regarding property ownership. This reform is intended to facilitate access to credit, investment, and inheritance for citizens.
In addition to property reforms, the President announced an upcoming connectivity program between municipalities designed to foster national development. As part of immediate relief efforts, the government will begin distributing machinery to local governments starting August 17, prioritizing municipalities affected by climate emergencies. Asfura also addressed municipal transfers, noting that payments for the third quarter will be completed for the 75 municipalities currently facing drought alerts.
