Honduras extradites Darwin Ramos to the U.S. for narcotics charges

Darwin Orlando Ramos Díaz, known by the alias ‘Pikete’ or ‘Piqueque’, was extradited from Honduras to the United States on Tuesday. He was transferred from the National Penitentiary of Támara to the Palmerola Air Base in Comayagua under heavy security to be handed over to U.S. authorities.

The extradition was requested by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Ramos Díaz faces charges related to narcotics trafficking and money laundering, specifically involving a conspiracy to manufacture and distribute five kilograms of cocaine intended for import into the United States.

This marks the third extradition of a Honduran national to the U.S. in 2026. While previous extraditions this year involved sexual offenses, Ramos Díaz’s case is tied to drug-related crimes and financial laundering.
