Honduras hosts 940 university artists at 2026 Central American Interuniversity Festival
Honduras is hosting the XIII Festival Interuniversitario Centroamericano de la Cultura y el Arte (FICCUA 2026) in Tegucigalpa. The four‑day event, organized by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH), brings together 940 artists from twelve public universities across Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Honduras.
The programme features music, dance, theatre, literature and visual arts across eleven stages. UNAH rector Odir Fernández Flores opened the festival, stressing that culture and art are essential to higher‑education training and regional integration. He urged participants to feel pride representing their institutions and countries. The festival follows the 2024 edition held in Panama and aims to strengthen Central American ties through artistic expression.
