Honduras national football team to face Peru in March friendly

The Honduras national football team is set to play its first match of 2026 under new head coach José Francisco Molina. The international friendly against Peru will take place on March 31, 2026, at the Butarque Municipal Stadium in Leganés, Spain.

This match marks the first meeting between Honduras and Peru in 14 years. Both teams failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In related talent development news, the Honduras Football Federation (FFH) has integrated Manel Reixach Sánchez into its national team project. Reixach Sánchez, a goalkeeper born in 2011 currently training with Girona FC in Spain, has a Honduran mother and will be monitored by the federation as part of its efforts to identify and develop eligible talent globally.
