Ángel Eduardo “El Ruso” captured in Jalisco
Ángel Eduardo “N”, alias “El Ruso”, was arrested in the municipality of Zapopan, Jalisco, after a joint operation by the Fiscalía General del Estado de Quintana Roo and the Fiscalía General del Estado de Jalisco. The capture followed three months of field work, intelligence analysis and technological tracking that located the suspect outside Quintana Roo.
He faces two orders of apprehension for qualified homicide. The first relates to a shooting on 15 June in the Palmas I residential area of Playa del Carmen, and the second to a killing on 23 June in the parking lot of a retail store on Luis Donaldo Colosio Avenue, also in Playa del Carmen. Authorities consider him a primary generator of violence in the region and plan to transfer him to Quintana Roo for judicial proceedings.
