Honduras updates migration services and RAP registration deadlines

Honduran authorities have announced several administrative updates regarding migration services and private sector compliance.

The National Migration Institute (INM) will implement special schedules and 24-hour service at the Palmerola and Ramón Villeda Morales international airports to accommodate the Semana Morazánica holiday from October 5 to 9, 2026. The Toncontín airfield will operate from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM to handle urgent procedures. Additionally, border checkpoints, including the El Florido integrated crossing, will maintain high availability to manage traveler flow.

Separately, today marks the deadline for private companies in Honduras to register with the Private Contribution Regime (RAP) without facing penalties. Under Legislative Decree No. 40-2026, companies that have never been affiliated can regularize their status without paying retroactive contributions, interest, or fines. This benefit applies only to previously unaffiliated companies; those already registered with pending obligations are excluded. Failure to register by the deadline will require companies to pay all owed employer-employee contributions along with applicable sanctions.
