Honduras: Young woman shot dead in Comayagua

Génesis Acosta Morales was shot and killed on a Saturday night in the San Antonio de la Cuesta sector of Comayagua, Honduras. The victim was reportedly surprised by unknown assailants while in front of a plaza.

Authorities from the National Police and the Public Ministry have cordoned off the scene to collect evidence and investigate the motive behind the attack. No suspects have been apprehended at this time. This incident follows a pattern of violence against women in the country, where organizations report a femicide occurring approximately every 30 hours.
