Yo Yo Honey Singh summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Cell
The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has issued a new summons to rapper and music producer Hirdesh Singh, known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, requiring him to appear for questioning on October 16. The summons follows a complaint regarding allegedly objectionable and indecent remarks made during a concert in Delhi earlier this year.
Singh has reportedly missed three previous summons, citing his presence abroad as the reason for his inability to appear. Authorities have rejected his recent request to delay the appearance until October 22. A senior official warned that if the singer fails to appear for this scheduled questioning, the agency may initiate the process to issue a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him.
The investigation stems from a viral video of a performance where Singh made comments regarding sexual activity in cars. While Singh has issued a video apology, claiming his intention was to promote safe sex to a Gen Z audience using relatable language, the remarks prompted formal complaints. This follows previous legal scrutiny regarding his past lyrical content.
