Honey Train to connect Rijeka and Lič for Medun Fest

A special ‘Honey Train’ will reconnect Rijeka and Gorski kotar on Saturday, September 5, transporting travelers to the 7th Medun Fest in Lič. The excursion departs from the Rijeka railway station at 15:00 and arrives in Lič at 15:46, with the return journey scheduled for 20:10.

Tickets are priced at seven euros and include honey cookies, welcome drinks featuring local juices and aperitifs, and professional guidance from the Lynx and Fox agency. The festival, held from September 4 to 6, focuses on the indigenous Goran forest honey, a nutrient-dense ‘superfood’ produced from the honeydew of fir and juniper trees.

Festival highlights include a cooking show by David Skoke and Damir Perman, bread-making demonstrations using honey and sourdough, and a local product fair. Educational and humanitarian activities, such as the ‘Plant a Fir, Save a Bee’ campaign and an apiary with live bees for children, are also part of the program.
