Honeywell Technologies to support GPIC aromatics complex in Bahrain

Honeywell Technologies has been selected by the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) to provide licensing and engineering services for a new aromatics complex in Sitra, Bahrain.

The facility is designed to produce approximately 1.2 million metric tons of paraxylene and 500,000 metric tons of benzene annually. The project will utilize Honeywell Technologies UOP’s Naphtha Hydrotreating, CCR Platforming, and LDPX Aromatics Complex technologies. These products serve as essential feedstocks for various industrial and consumer applications, including plastics, packaging materials, and polyester fibers.

In addition to licensing and engineering services, Honeywell Technologies UOP will provide catalysts, adsorbents, and equipment. The project aims to strengthen Bahrain’s industrial base and meet growing global demand for petrochemical building blocks.
