Hong Kong celebrates Leslie Cheung with 70th birthday exhibition

The Hong Kong Heritage Museum will host the ‘Miss You Much. Leslie 70th Birthday. Exhibition’ to commemorate the life and career of legendary Cantopop icon Leslie Cheung. Running from September 9, 2026, to May 10, 2027, the exhibition is expected to be larger in scale than previous tributes, featuring over 300 artifacts.

Key highlights include the recreation of scenes from Cheung’s former residence, featuring furniture and personal items used by the star. The collection also includes 10 to 11 iconic stage costumes from his various concert eras, such as the cloak from his 1989 farewell concert and outfits from his ‘Live in Concert 97’ tour.

Curated with assistance from Cheung’s close associates, including Florence Chan and Daffy Tong, the exhibition will display items never before seen by the public, such as vinyl records, film posters, and private photographs. Additionally, the museum will screen six of his representative films during the exhibition period. Admission to the event is free.
