Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival Returns to Queens for Two-Day Celebration

The 36th Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival will take place on August 8‑9, 2026 at Meadow Lake in Flushing Meadows‑Corona Park, Queens, New York. The free, rain‑or‑shine event features dragon‑boat races with teams of up to 20 paddlers using both traditional teak and modern fiberglass boats that meet International Dragon Boat Federation standards. Competitors include open, youth, charity, nonprofit and corporate entries from across North America.

In addition to racing, the festival offers live music, multicultural performances, martial‑arts demonstrations, arts‑and‑crafts vendors and an international food court offering dishes from around the world. Admission is free and visitors are encouraged to use subway service, as parking requires a permit.
