Hong Kong Gold Exchange Trading System Limited established

Hong Kong Gold Exchange Trading System Limited (HKGXTS) has been officially established as a joint venture between the Hong Kong Gold Exchange (HKGX) and TGX Technology Limited. The entity aims to develop Hong Kong’s gold trading and fintech infrastructure by building a secure and internationally competitive trading and clearing technology platform.

The project involves technical collaboration with Hundsun Technologies, which will support core system delivery, and Alibaba Cloud, which will provide cloud computing, digital infrastructure, and future AI capabilities. The platform is intended to integrate trading, clearing, settlement, and related services into a unified system.

Following its inaugural board meeting, HKGXTS announced plans to begin pilot operations for its new gold trading and clearing system in the first quarter of 2027. The company intends to explore international market access, digital gold real-world assets, and cross-market expansion, utilizing a 'Finance + Web3 + AI' approach to transform traditional physical gold into more flexible assets.
