Hong Kong horse racing: Visiting jockeys announced and seasonal debuts set
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has announced the list of visiting jockeys for the first half of the season. Notable among them is Oisin Murphy, who will make her debut in Hong Kong. Other visiting jockeys include Ryan Moore, Christophe Lemaire, and William Buick, who are scheduled to ride during the Hong Kong International Races period.
Murphy is expected to arrive first, riding from November 8 to December 23. Other jockeys will follow throughout the season, with some arriving in December and others, such as William Buick, scheduled to appear in early 2027.
In related racing news, the horse Quantum Magic, owned by Hong Kong Legislative Council member and New Territories Rural Committee Chairman Lau Ip-keung, is set to make its seasonal debut in a Class 3 1600m race at Sha Tin this Sunday. The Australian-bred four-year-old will be ridden by Zac Purton's replacement, Karis Teetan, following a period of adaptation to local conditions.
