Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors hosts 2026 Quantity Surveying Conference

The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) Quantity Surveying Division hosted its 2026 Conference at the CIC-Zero Carbon Park. The event focused on the theme, “Transforming QS Practice in a New Era: Integrating Digital Construction, Collaborative Contracting and Payment Security,” addressing the evolving responsibilities of quantity surveyors during periods of economic restructuring.

Approximately 200 participants, including government officials, industry leaders, and academics, attended the conference both in person and online. Ricky Lau Chun Kit, JP, the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) for the Development Bureau, attended as the Guest of Honour and delivered a keynote speech regarding the strategic importance of the platform for exchanging professional insights.

The seminar explored how professionals can transition from traditional contract and cost management roles into enablers of value creation through the integration of digital tools and new legislative frameworks.
