Hong Kong legal delegations attend international conferences in Morocco and Malaysia

Hong Kong legal professional bodies are participating in major international legal forums to strengthen global connections and discuss critical legal issues.

At the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA) annual meeting in Morocco, the Hong Kong Bar Association is coordinating with UIA leadership to host the UIA Asia-Pacific Regional Conference in Hong Kong in January 2027. The upcoming conference will focus on topics such as mediation and arbitration in cross-border trade, the application of artificial intelligence in international dispute resolution, and cross-cultural mediation.

Simultaneously, a delegation from the Hong Kong Bar Association is attending the International Malaysia Law Conference. During the event, legal experts discussed the importance of legal professional privilege in maintaining judicial justice and protecting confidential communications between clients and counsel. The delegation also participated in discussions regarding the judiciary's role in defending constitutions and human rights.
