Hong Kong man dies after falling from Nonthaburi hotel

A 28-year-old Hong Kong man, identified as Chan Sing Lam, died early on September 11 after falling from a hotel in the Bang Khen subdistrict of Nonthaburi, Thailand.

According to hotel staff and witnesses, Chan had been staying at the property since August 30. Shortly before the incident, he reportedly informed staff that a massage worker had extorted all of his money and challenged him to report the matter to the police. Although he did not file a formal complaint, Chan requested paper and a pen from hotel staff approximately 30 minutes before his death, stating he wanted to write a message.

Police were alerted to the fall at approximately 1:43 a.m. Staff members in the hotel dining area reported hearing the sound of breaking glass before discovering Chan's body near the lobby entrance. Investigators and officials from the Central Institute of Forensic Science have examined the hotel room and the scene to determine the exact circumstances of the fall. Authorities plan to coordinate with Hong Kong officials to notify the victim's family.
