Hong Kong Police Launch 'Love Pet' Animal Welfare Mobile Unit

The Hong Kong Police Force’s Animal Protection Community Ambassador programme inaugurated a new mobile education vehicle, the “Love Pet” (愛寵號), at a ceremony on 25 July at the K11 Art Mall in Tsim Sha Tsui. Police Commissioner 周一鳴 and Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Department head 應鳳秀 officiated the launch, inserting a symbolic puzzle key into the vehicle to mark its start.

The vehicle will travel across ten Hong Kong locations—including Tseung Kwan O, Causeway Bay, Tai Po, Yuen Long, Mong Kok, Central, Tsuen Wan and Kai Tak—until 7 August, offering interactive games that teach children and the public how to care for pets and respect animal life. At the launch, 11 exemplary schools received commendations for their “Pet‑Love” programmes, which involve student caretakers, amphibian‑reptile classrooms and rescued‑dog adoption projects. The outreach aims to embed respect for animals in the younger generation and complement police enforcement of animal‑related offences.
