Hong Kong promotes professional services in Central Asia

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong SAR Government organized the ‘Collaborate2Win’ promotion campaign from August 24 to 28, 2026. The initiative aimed to showcase Hong Kong’s international financial, legal, and dispute resolution services to Central Asian markets.

Led by Secretary for Justice Paul Lam, a high-level delegation visited Xinjiang, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The delegation included representatives from Hong Kong’s legal, financial, and trade sectors. Through site visits, business exchanges, and seminars, the campaign sought to foster cooperation and explore opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative.

A key event, the Collaborate2Win seminar, took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on August 26. During the campaign, Paul Lam emphasized Hong Kong’s role as a premier financial hub and a leading common law jurisdiction, positioning the city as a strategic partner for Kazakhstan and the broader region.
