Hong Kong resident optimizes 6m² micro-apartment
A resident in Hong Kong has transformed a tiny 6-square-meter living space into a functional home featuring a bedroom, a living area, and a workspace for two people.
The design relies heavily on the room's 4-meter ceiling height to maximize vertical space. A metal bunk bed system is used to divide the area: the upper level serves as a sleeping quarters, while the lower level functions as a mini living room of approximately 3 square meters.
To prevent the small space from feeling cramped, the occupant utilized white tones as the primary color and incorporated large windows to allow natural light to penetrate deep into the room. Additional artificial lighting and multifunctional furniture, such as folding desks and built-in storage cabinets, further optimize the limited footprint.
