Abby Choi murder trial: Prosecutors allege planned killing over property dispute

The trial of the murder of Hong Kong model and influencer Abby Choi has entered a significant phase, with prosecutors alleging the killing was a 'carefully elaborated' plan. The prosecution claims the crime was motivated by a financial dispute involving a luxury apartment valued at approximately 72 million HKD.

Prosecutors presented evidence to the jury including security footage and various tools allegedly used to dismember the victim, such as a meat grinder, a chainsaw, and a hammer. Testimony indicated that the defendants—Choi's ex-husband Alex Kwong, his brother Anthony Kwong, and his father Kwong Kau—purchased these items shortly before the crime. One harrowing testimony alleged that Choi's skull was found boiling in a soup pot.

All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the murder charges. While Alex and Anthony Kwong admitted to obstructing the lawful burial of the body, they deny the killing. The trial is expected to continue through December.
