Hong Kong TVB star Ma Quoc Minh secures high‑pay contract and announces new relationship

Ma Quoc Minh, a veteran Hong Kong actor with TVB, is reported to have renewed his contract with a salary of HK$8 million per year, making him the second‑highest‑paid male star at the broadcaster. After graduating in mechanical engineering in Canada, he joined TVB’s acting class in 1999, worked his way up from minor, often silent roles and earned the “Most Progressive Actor” award in 2006. In 2019 he topped the TVB popularity rankings for his lead role in “White Blouse Hero”, cementing his status as a leading male star.

His personal life has also drawn attention. A past romance with former beauty queen Huỳnh Tâm Dĩnh ended in 2009 after a media‑exposed affair scandal. Since mid‑2020, Ma has confirmed a new relationship with actress Thang Lạc Văn, signalling a fresh chapter in his private life.
