Hong Kong woman bitten by unleashed dog while protecting pet

A 34-year-old woman was injured in a dog attack in Hong Kong’s Western District on the night of August 25. The incident occurred near Belcher’s Street around 11:00 p.m. while the woman was walking her Pomsky, a Siberian Husky and Pomeranian crossbreed.

An unleashed mongrel, being walked by an elderly man, encountered the woman’s pet, leading to a confrontation between the two animals. In an attempt to protect her dog, the woman intervened and sustained a bleeding bite wound to her leg.

Following the scuffle, the elderly owner reportedly left the scene toward Queen’s Road West. The woman’s boyfriend attempted to follow the man but lost sight of him. Paramedics treated the woman at the scene, and she was subsequently transported to Queen Mary Hospital for medical treatment. Police have taken the man and the dog into custody for further investigation.
