Hoàng Tùng performs song honoring Vietnamese women

To commemorate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union, Meritorious Artist Hoàng Tùng has performed the song ‘Gặp em cô gái Việt Nam’, composed by Nguyễn Thành Trung.

Composer Nguyễn Thành Trung stated that the song was inspired by the simple, everyday beauty of Vietnamese women, such as their smiles, the ‘ao dai’, and their roles in nurturing the family and homeland. The musical arrangement by Dương Đức Thụy utilizes a pentatonic scale to create a soft, traditional Vietnamese atmosphere.

Hoàng Tùng, the 2003 Sao Mai champion, emphasized his approach of singing with sincerity and respect for the subject matter. He noted the importance of respecting Vietnamese tones and pitch to ensure the lyrics remain clear and emotionally resonant, reflecting both the elegance of the women and the warmth of the domestic sphere.
