Hongqi launches pre-sale for G919 luxury off-road vehicle

Hongqi has officially launched the pre-sale of its first luxury all-scenario off-road vehicle, the G919, in Beijing. This model marks a strategic expansion for the brand from executive luxury into the high-end off-road market.

A key technical feature of the G919 is its exclusive use of EVE Energy’s OMNI large cylindrical battery. This battery system provides a 62.9kWh capacity, enabling a pure electric range of 280km and a CLTC combined range of up to 1,350km. The technology supports fast charging, allowing for a 12-minute recharge to meet the demands of long-distance travel and extreme environments.

The battery is designed for high-performance off-roading, featuring high-strength steel casing for impact resistance and a thermal safety design capable of releasing over 50% of heat within five seconds to prevent thermal runaway. EVE Energy, which has accumulated over 2,600 patents in this field, also supplies large cylindrical battery technology to other major manufacturers, including BMW.
