Honold Gruppe and GDELS expand industrial infrastructure in Germany
Honold Logistik & Immobilien Gruppe and General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) are expanding their cooperation in industrial infrastructure. A new site is being developed in Memmingen, Southwest Germany, on a plot of approximately 40,000 m2, featuring roughly 22,000 m2 of usable space.
Honold is investing approximately 30 million EUR in the project, which includes development, construction, and subsequent operational management. The new facility is intended to serve a central function within the German and European production structures of GDELS, supporting several major manufacturing sites. GDELS is a leading European manufacturer of protected wheeled and tracked military vehicles, including the Piranha, Eagle, Pandur, and Ascod families.
For Honold, this project represents a strategic expansion of its Aerospace & Defence business segment. The company reports a total investment of around 60 million EUR in this sector during the current year, which also includes projects for Airbus in Donauwörth.
